Today I am a Year Older
I feel like lately I have been thinking to myself "wow, I wish I knew this five years ago" a lot more. Am I the only one that does that? Granted, I am still in my twenties, but since I have graduated college I feel like my quality of life is a lot better. I have learned a lot about myself, and I wish I could tell my college me to just relax (and maybe learn how to make a proper meal).
I thought I would change gears for today's post since it is my bday and I have been having the worst writer's block. With all the changes going on right now, I have been surprisingly not stressed, and I think it has to do with how I treat myself. Also, I have seen some new faces on the blog recently and I have been thinking about doing an "about me" post soon. How does that sound?
So let's dive right in! I would love to hear what you guys have learned to do to make your life easier, whether it be to have a solid morning routine, or just to watch netflix at the end of the day to unwind. Whatever it is, I wanna know! Below I have listed what I do that makes my life a thousand times less stressful.
This sounds a little depressing, but the first time I heard this it was very freeing. I have always cared so much about what other people think of me, and I still do! But whenever I get anxiety over doing something I think people will judge me for, I think to myself, literally nobody cares. And voila, I feel better. If I had let the stress of what people thought of me win, I would have never started this blog.
Learn How & What To Cook
Learning how to cook a proper meal was probably the best step I have ever taken in clearing my skin. Also, what foods to cook. For the longest time I thought red meat and dairy were the reason my stomach was always upset but after some careful diet observation and changes, I realized it was actually sugar that had been messing with me. When I eat too much sugar, I get super depressed and my skin looks like crap.
Self Care How You Want To Self Care
Everyone is obsessed with self care these days, and if you don't have a set self care routine, you should start experimenting with it! I wanted to highlight this topic just to point out that not everyone's self care routine looks the same. I like to spend hours using different skincare products, and I know that not everyone wants to do that. Regardless, you should find something that works for you and your schedule and run with it. Today, I decided it was best for me to take a bubble bath in the middle of the day, and I loved every minute of it.
Make Your F*cking Bed
Okay, so I still struggle with this one from time to time, but it really does make a world of difference when your room is picked up. I am currently sitting in my bed typing this and hanging out with my sister, Morgan, and she just looked at me and asked "why is your room always so peaceful?". Because I make it that way! I like my room to be a place to relax and I think having a clean space achieves that for sure. Also, when my bed isn't made I tend to just jump back in it in the middle of the day and I don't get anything done. Oops.
Again, I would love to know what you have done to make life easier on yourself. Life doesn't have to be super stressful all the time, and you need to give yourself grace when things don't go as planned. For example, I post every Tuesday and Thursday, and I usually post first thing in the morning. This post isn't going out until 11:30 pm...and it is OKAY. I just needed a little time today. Whatevs.
Hope your day is wonderful!!!
